Peru Unveiled: A Culture, Nature & Adventure Journey
This 11-day, culture-and-adventure-packed Peru journey explores the historic centers of Lima and Cusco, before guiding you through the Sacred Valley to the iconic Machu Picchu. The itinerary also features thrilling excursions to breathtaking natural sites, including the coastal desert oasis of Huacachina, the 7 Lakes of Ausangate, and the vibrant Rainbow Mountain.
After arriving at Jorge Chávez International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to recover from your flight or explore Lima’s gastronomy and history.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Lima’s historic center, discovering its colonial and republican legacy: Plaza Mayor, Lima Cathedral, Santo Domingo Convent, Bodega y Cuadra, Jirón de la Unión, Plaza San Martín
Travel to the Ica desert and spend the day at the Huacachina Oasis, with sandboarding and dune buggy rides
Travel from the coast to the Andes to arrive in the historic city of Cusco, the heart of the Inca Empire. This first day in Cusco is ideal for rest and acclimatization.
Discover the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting artisan markets in Pisac and archaeological sites in Ollantaytambo, before boarding the expedition train to Aguas Calientes.
On a full-day trip, experience the once-in-a-lifetime visit to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu and enjoy a 1.5-hour hike to Huayna Picchu for breathtaking views.
Today, you will trek among the 7 high-altitude lakes of Ausangate, surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes. Approx. 5-hour hike. Return to Cusco in the evening.
Spend the day discovering Cusco’s rich history and architecture. The city tour includes visits to its most emblematic sites, Sacsayhuamán, Qorikancha, and the Cathedral, with the flexibility to choose between a morning or afternoon schedule.
This final adventure day will take you to Rainbow Mountain, one of Peru’s most spectacular natural wonders, where you can marvel at its vibrant natural colors. Approx. 3.5-hour hike. Return to Cusco in the evening
Fly back to Lima for your final night in Peru, with the day at leisure.
After 10 wonderful days, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your departure.
